Rallying returns to Reynolds
Reynolds Bauxite Mines will host Sunday’s second rally in the Drivers Rallysport Club’s (DRC) championship series dubbed Rally of the Kings. It is scheduled to start at 10:00 am in Lydford, St Ann.
“We have many young drivers that have never been on the stage before,” Lawrence Henriques, president — DRC, told Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
The Rally of the Kings is slated to celebrate the lives of two of the sport’s former competitors, the late Raynor King and his son, Daryl. This Sunday, it will be eight stages across the Lydford and Reynolds bauxite mine roads. The 11-kilometre Reynolds stage hasn’t been used since 2013. Before that, it was a staple of the end-of-year rally, now known as Rally Jamaica, and the scene of many exciting performances by Rallysport’s top names.
