Appeal window opened to solve ID issues in SW St Andrew run-off
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Scores of People’s National Party (PNP) delegates, who were unable to vote in the Southwest St Andrew selection exercise because of identification issues, have gathered at the front of the Caribbean Palms community centre on Spanish Town Road to make use of the window of appeal, which opened a short while ago.
This is an effort to give delegates a chance to vote before the polls close at 4:00 pm.
The selection exercise is in a bid to decide who will replace retired Member of Parliament Portia Simpson Miller in the constituency. Councillors Audrey Smith Facey and Angela Brown Burke are vying for the post.
At 2:30, it was announced that just over 932 of the 1,927 eligible delegates had cast their votes.
