ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The police have imposed a curfew in Fraser’s Content, Spanish Town in St Catherine, which began at 6:00 pm Sunday and will remain in effect until 6:00 pm tomorrow, Tuesday, August 1.

The boundaries of the curfew are north along a dirt track from the intersection of Brivate Road to Salkey Avenue at the eastern boundary; East along Salkey Avenue from the dirt track at the northern boundary to Frazers Boulevard at the southern boundary; South along Fraser’s Boulevard from Salkey Avenue to Brivate Road at the western boundary, and west along Brivate Road from Fraser’s Boulevard to the dirt track at the northern boundary.

According to the police the aim of this operation is to restore law and order in the area which has been experiencing extreme lawlessness and has caused a major strain on the deployment of police and military personnel.

The police cautioned that during the hours of the curfew all individuals within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the member of security forces who are in charge of enforcing the curfew.
