#London2017: World Champs schedule — Wednesday, August 9
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Despite Jamaica missing out on a medal in the men’s 400-metre final at the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London yesterday, there are high hopes that Kemar Mowatt, running in lane 3, will deliver one in the 400m Hurdles today.
Also competing in a final event today is Jamaica’s Danniel Thomas-Dodd, who became the first Jamaican woman to reach the shot put final, after finishing third in Group A with a heave of 18.42 metres. Dodd has a personal best of 19.15m
Meanwhile, the Jamaican trio Shericka Jackson, Novlene Williams-Mills and Stephenie Ann McPherson will compete in the Women’s 400m finals.
The Jamaicans, running in lanes two, three and eight respectively will compete against three-time World Champion, Allyson Felix.
Jamaicans will also be anticipating the men’s 200m semi final with hopes that Rasheed Dwyer and Yohan Blake will secure a spot in the finals scheduled for tomorrow.
The first event of the day will see Aisha Praught competing in heat 2 of the women’s 3000 metres steeplechase followed by Kemoy Campbell in the men’s 5000 metres.
