St James FA U-20 heats up
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Petersfield High and Bogue FC were winners on Tuesday in the St James Football Association /Sandals Resorts International Under-20 competition, as they race for places in the semi-finals set for later this month.
Petersfield High beat Norwood FC 3-0 at the UDC field for their third victory and joined Heights FC at the top of the points table, while Bogue FC chalked up win number two with a 2-1 come -from-behind win over Spot Valley High.
Heights FC and Petersfield High are both on nine points each, two more than Bogue FC, followed by Spot Valley High on six points in fourth place.
Shewayne Barton scored twice to lead Petersfield, netting in the third and 55th minutes, while Ruel Miller got a third goal in the 73rd minute.
At Spot Valley, the home team took the lead in the 30th minute through Rogewayne Thompson, but Tavane Kerr equalised in the 34th minute for Bogue FC, before Michael Kellier scored the winner in the 56th minute.
In rescheduled games set for next week, Petersfield and Spot Valley will meet at the UDC field on Monday; Bogue and Norwood will meet on Tuesday; Spot Valley will play Lane FC on Wednesday at the UDC field; while MoBay City FC and Petersfield will meet at Herbert Morrison.
Lane FC and Heights FC will meet on Thursday, also at the UDC field.
