Dunn urges Annotto Bay residents to assist police in solving triple murder
ST MARY, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) caretaker for the South East St Mary Constituency, Dr Norman Dunn, is asking residents of the Annotto Bay Division to assist the police with any information connected to the triple murder in the parish on Monday.
The deceased — 37-year-old Lincoln Crossdale, 25-year-old Ricardo Griffiths and 24-year-old Sherwaine Campbell — were reportedly on their way to Crossdale’s farm when, according to police, seven gunmen ambushed.
Dunn, who said he visited the families of the victims yesterday, expressed his great disappointment that such promising and ambitious lives were lost.
“The young men were farmers within the community and the fact that they were awake at that hour of the morning and headed towards their farm shows their diligence and commitment towards their profession,” Dunn said, adding that he is at a loss for words.
“The families moved me to tears because these men were breadwinners themselves. I will be mobilising as much support as possible for them and helping where possible in this time of grief,” he stated.
He appealed to members of the Annotto Bay community to do their civic duty and reject the activities of criminals and murderers.
“The community is relatively small and it could have been any of your sons. If you have any information that will help the police I encourage any and everyone to discreetly do so,” Dunn pleaded.
