CPL: Jamaica Tallawahs batting first against Guyana Amazon Warriors
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs have won the toss and decided to bat against the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 28th match of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 and the final of their four home games here at Sabina Park.
The Tallawahs, having already secured a spot in the play-offs, will be seeking solidify their position on second, which will assure them two bites at making it to the final.
They are currently on 12 points and victory tonight will push them beyond reach of the Chris Gayle-led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who are in third on 11 points.
Captain Kumar Sangakkara has retained the same side that defeated the Patriots by 41 runs on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Warriors, who are fourth on eight points, will be hoping for a victory which would see them having one foot in the play-offs and pending the outcome of the Barbados Tridents’ next two contests.
They have made one change bringing in spinner Steven Jacobs for young all-rounder Keemo Paul.
