Raddy Rich on the mend
POPULAR dancer choreographer Raddy Rich is currently nursing injuries at the Annotto Bay Hospital in St Mary following a motor vehicle accident in Portland on Monday night.
Speaking with the Jamaica Observer from his hospital bed, Raddy Rich (given name is Rohan Lyttle) said although he is in severe pain, he is grateful to be alive.
“God is good… The end result could have been different. I got an injury to my neck. I am in a lot of pain but I am really happy that I am alive,” he told Observer.
The dancer — who said he was driving alone at the time of the accident — was heading from Portland to his St Mary home when he lost control of his Toyota Axio.
Raddy Rich said he’ll be out of commission for awhile.
“I may not be able to do any shows for a little while, but I will be following the doctor’s order in order to be up and running again,” he said.
The dancer also thanked his supporters for their well wishes through a post on his Instagram page.
“I would love to take this time out to thank all the caregivers, well-wishes, support and warm love from everyone. Prayer really works!! Thank you guys. The blood donation was successful. I am expecting a speedy recovery,” he said.
Raddy Rich emerged on the dance scene several years ago. He has taken his talent worldwide to North America, France, Japan and Russia. In addition to showcasing his talent in a number of music videos, he is also the choregrapher behind Nikki Minaj and Sean Kingston’s Dutty Love, ,and Drake and Mavado’s Find Your Love videos.
Raddy Rich is featured in Nick Cannon’s movie King of the Dancehall. He was also voted Dancer of the Year at the 2013 Youth View Awards.
