AK47 seized in Mount Salem ZOSO
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Eight days after Mount Salem was declared the first zone of special operations (ZOSO), the ZOSO Communications Unit is reporting that the joint forces in that St James community has seized another illegal firearm in that St James community.
The weapon — an AK47 with five live rounds — was seized a short while ago.
The unit said a man has been arrested in connection with the seizure and another, who is believed to be a wanted gang member, has also been held.
This brings the total number of guns seized so far to two.
The moratorium period where citizens could call Crime Stop with information on weapons that are located on their premises ended yesterday.
