If Walls Could Talk
Local interior design firm If Walls Could Talk specialises in residential and commercial interiors.
Managing Director and Lead Designer Joelle Smith’s love affair with design began as a childhood obsession with creating dollhouses; later manifesting into an interior design business, which she carefully nurtured while working as an investment advisor. In 2015, Smith took a leap of faith and transitioned into the world of interior design full-time.
Smith’s work has been published in The Jamaica Observer and Places & Spaces Magazine. She has also earned an International Best of Houzz Award.
She has over a decade of experience working in the interior design and event décor industry, and a passion for creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional.
Among her most recent projects, Smith was commissioned to work alongside Virgin to execute the newly opened Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship in Kingston; she was among four firms selected to design model bathrooms for Kohler International’s flagship Caribbean Showroom. Committed to transforming the landscape of both residential and commercial interiors, she designed Jamaica’s first co-working space, which not only redefines the traditional office, but the way people interact with their work environment. Other areas of specialty include staging apartments for short-term rental, as well as bathroom, kitchen and home renovations. IWCT also produces its exclusive line of decorative throw pillows, distributed at Active Home Centre.
” There is no passion to be found in playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living” – Nelson Mandela.
Smith believes that with enough passion and patience, the sky is the limit.
