UPDATE: Policewoman, daughter in stable condition after home invasion
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The policewoman and her 23-year-old daughter who were shot and injured when gunmen invaded their home in Portmore, St Catherine last night, are said to be in stable condition.
A man believed to be one of the attackers was killed during the invasion. The police have not yet revealed his identity.
The police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said the other culprits are being sought.

Reports are that about 8:20 pm, the woman and her daughter were attacked and shot by gunmen. The gunfire was returned and the attackers were repelled.
During a subsequent search of the area, the now deceased was found with gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Both women were subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) advised that the threat level against police officers has been raised to ‘extreme’, following this and several other recent attacks on officers.
Cops are being advised to take all precautions and to act quickly and decisively to protect themselves and family members as violent attacks are imminent.
