Save the New Kingston police post, PNP’s Robinson urges
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Peoples’ National Party Member of Parliament for South East St Andrew, Julian Robinson is calling for the urgent intervention of Security Minister, Robert Montague to prevent the closure of the New Kingston police post.
Robinson in a release today said “the owners of the premises where the post is located served notice on the Ministry of National Security from last year that they needed the premises by September 30, 2017. To date, there has been no response from the ministry and the lease expires today”
Robinson noted that stakeholders in the New Kingston area are willing to identify an alternative location to prevent closure of the post, which provides service to the multiple businesses and residents in that community.
“It is critical that Minister Montague intervenes now and has dialogue with the owners to find a solution to the impending closure,” Robinson said.
