Atkinson wins second gold in two days at swimming world cup

HONG KONG, China — Jamaica’s swim queen Alia Atkinson added her second gold in as many days at the FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup 2017 in Hong Kong this morning.

Atkinson led the women’s 50m breaststroke field in a time 29.26s to live up to her reputation as world record holder in the short course event and the only sub-30 swimmer in the field.

Yesterday, the swimmer earned gold in the women’s 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:04.09s.

In both races, she was trailed by Danish swimmer Rikke Pedersen.
