Reputed MoBay gangster ‘King Evil’ gunned down
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A strong contingent of Jamaica Constabulary Force and Jamaica Defence Force members were deployed across Montego Bay, St James last night following a spate of shootings in the wake of the drive-by shooting death of feared gangster, Omar Lewis.
Lewis, who was also called King Evil, was killed about 7:30 pm after he was peppered with bullets by unknown shooters while he sat in his car in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
Following the killing of the reputed gangster, gunmen, believed to be aligned with him went on a shooting spree in sections of the city.
Lewis reportedly fled the Island after he was fingered in a 2008 stabbing murder incident which took place at a nightclub in Montego Bay. He, was, however, deported to the island in May of this year when, upon arrival, he was immediately arrested on a warrant and taken into custody.
Lewis was the reputed leader of a gang operating out of the innercity Canterbury community in Montego Bay.
