Man shot dead during confrontation with police in St James

ST JAMES, Jamaica — An unidentified man was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in Hollywood, Norwood, St James last night.

Police say the dead man is of dark complexion, about 25 years old and was about 178 centimetres (5 feet 10 inches) tall. He was clad in a dark coloured t-shirt and short pants.

A Glock 19 pistol and two magazines with a total of 22 9mm cartridges were also seized.

The police said the matter has been reported to Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
