PASTOR Kenneth Blair, who is accused of impregnating his ex-lover’s 12-year-old daughter, had his bail extended when his case was mentioned in court yesterday.

The prosecution told the court last month that, except for the DNA result which should have been ready yesterday, everything was in place for the case to be sent to committal proceedings.

In August, the 56-year-old accused of Harbour View in St Andrew had consented to a DNA test to clear his name when the matter was brought before the court.

Yesterday when the matter was called up in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court the prosecutor told the court that the DNA test result was still outstanding.

However, the matter was transferred to the committal court by Parish Judge Simone Wolfe-Reece for them to determine whether or not it goes to the Supreme Court.

Blair, who served as pastor of Harvest Temple Apostolic Church on Slipe Pen Road in Kingston, was arrested and charged with rape, grievous sexual assault, forcible abduction, sexual touching, and sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16 years old following allegations that he had sex with the child on several occasions in 2015, resulting in her getting pregnant.

It is further alleged that the pastor gave the teen, who is now 14 years old, cash and other gifts to keep the matter a secret.

Blake, who denied raping or molesting the teenager, will reappear in court on November 17.
