The MoDa Series, the annual triple ‘treat’ of MoDA Magazine , MoDA Market bazaar, and The Collection MoDA runway show, doled out by its director and founder Kerry-Ann Clarke, the retailer behind The Rock’s luxe concept shop KERRYmanwomanhome, made its 2017 comeback with ‘urban’ as the catchword. Driving home this aesthetic through set design and décor was Tai Flora Services, whose industrial installation of breezy textile flames, hardware link chains and painted tyres served as backdrop for the nine-collection event unveiled last Thursday evening inside the Grand Jamaican Suite of the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

Jetting in from The Big Apple were Project Runway alum Korto Momolu, toting two collections, and CZAR by Cesar Galindo fashion designer Cesar Galindo, who sent out travelling wardrobes among a cadre of Rock design talent, namely Arlene Martin of drennaLUNA, JohnEli DaCosta, the eponymous frontwoman of DTS by Daniela Stone, Courtney Washington and bespoke tailor Carlton Brown; with Mission Catwalk Season 5 winner David Rolle flying in from the Bahamas.

The evening also gave corporate brands an interactive window to engage fashionistas at the Yello Media Group concierge check-in, Berger Paints performance art installation, the elaborate Sagicor Bank-commissioned spread of pâtissier Dawn Mitchell’s desserts, and at the two Caribbean Producers Jamaica-stocked watering holes dedicated to Grey Goose vodka and Trapiche Vineyards wines.

Joined by her MoDA Series team of MoDA Creative Director Fidge Fletcher, MoDA Generalist Shauna-Gaye Hart, MoDA Mag Editor Leisha Wong, MoDA Market Curator Aiesha Panton and MoDA Go-To Stephanie Lawrence, Clarke unveiled yet another of her chic spectacles she has so meticulously crafted over six years.
