Artistes rally for Niko Chromatic
A NUMBER of local promoters and artistes are in support of an event to aimed at assisting selector Niko Chromatic, who is suffering from renal insufficiency.
The event, Dancehall for A Cause, is scheduled for Triple Century car park in New Kingston, tonight. Music will be provided by Chromatic as well as a host of other sound system.
It is understood that deejay Sean Paul and Mr Vegas have committed to the event.
Kimberly Mais, Niko’s girlfriend, who is also part of the organising committee, expressed her appreciation for the help that has been received so far, but said much more needs to be done.
“Niko and I are very thankful for the all help that has been given to date, but the truth is, there is a lot more to be done. This is not simply a charity event, but an opportunity to save the life of a really good person,” said Mais.
Niko Chromatic (given name Nicholas Grant) needs US$50,000 to undergo the kidney transplant. He has been battling the illness since 2015.
So far his Gofundme account has raised total of US$23,790. Donations can be made at Scotiabank to the Niko Chromatic Fund Account, account number 832211.
