Warriors host Titans in JCA Super League
The Jamaica Cricket Association’s (JCA’s) two-day Super League continues this weekend with the top-of-the-table encounter between Western Warriors and Central Titans at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium in Florence Hall taking centre stage.
Action is scheduled to begin today at 10:00 am.
Western Warriors, on 14 points from seven matches, lead the league standing, but are just one point ahead of the second-placed visitors Titans.
In another contest, hosts Combined Universities and Colleges, who are joint third on 10 points, tackle fifth-placed Southern Seals (eight points) at Kensington Park in eastern Kingston.
The other game on this weekend pits struggling Eastern Tigers against visiting Northern Panthers at Melbourne Oval in St Andrew.
The Tigers are last in the six-team competition with five points, while the Panthers (10 points) share third spot with the Combined Universities and Colleges.
The franchise with most points at the end of the competition will lift the champions trophy and walk away with $500,000 top prize.
This 10th round of matches should have been the final of the season, but islandwide rainfall has plagued the tournament, forcing organisers to reschedule three rounds, which will see the competition spilling over into December.
Bad weather also contributed to a number of no-results and draws due to significant time lost during matches.
