Dear Editor,

There are times that men are observed walking around with speaker boxes playing loud music. It is uncertain what their aim is; whether it is to be a public nuisance by distracting the surrounding places of business with indecent music, or if it is to entertain pedestrians.

If it is that these men have nothing better to occupy their time than to walk the streets during the days and disturb the public then they need to seek something useful to do.

A suggestion is that they contact businesses that want to advertise products, services, or campaigns. Instead of wasting time playing music with dirty lyrics, they can play recorded advertisements to spread awareness or attract more customers to the businesses; for which a payment arrangement can be agreed upon.

Another idea is that these individuals can set up their sound systems at a location in a community and play informative and positive content; possibly audiobooks. In fact, they could even play an audio version of the Bible!

There are people in poor, volatile communities who would greatly appreciate listening to something inspiring to motivate them to steer clear of wrongdoing. It is always better to spread God’s word rather than pointless drivel.

Despite the challenges of getting employment, there is no excuse for being idle. One simply needs to think of creative ways to be industrious and to have a positive impact on the persons in his/her surroundings. These individuals are already equipped with the resources so they should use them productively.
