St James-based recording artiste Queen B is promoting her debut single Dreadful Times . The song encourages peace and unity.

IProduced by Kemar “Flava” McGregor, it will be officially released next month via the FM music label.

“This my first recording and I am eager to see how the public will react to it,” Queen B told the Jamaica Observer.

The soft-spoken singer is hoping that the song will influence persons who are involved in criminal activities, especially those taking place in sections of Montego Bay and other parts of the island.

“I’ve always loved music, but I never planned to be a recording artiste. However, when I looked at what’s happening in Montego Bay I decided to write this song and record it with the hope that it will help to make a change,” she said.

“I’m very worried about what’s going on. There’s too much violence in our country; everyone is living in fear; not even the children are safe any more,” she continued.

McGregor believes that Queen B has the potential to be the next big thing in reggae music.

“Queen B is a magnificent talent, and she’s easy to work with. I believe she’s going to have a great future in the music business,” he said.

Queen B (given name Mauya-Gaye Brown) was born and raised in Spring Mount, St James. She’s a past student of Rusea’s High School.
