Ninja Man’s sentencing delayed
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The sentencing for popular entertainer Ninja Man was this afternoon delayed as a result of a handcuff shortage facing police officers who were to escort the artiste along with other accused/prisoners to the courtroom, OBSERVER ONLINE has learnt.
An attorney disclosed the situation when the case was called before the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.
Ninja Man, whose given name is Desmond Ballentine, was eventually brought to the courtroom but the attorney representing his co-accused Dennis Clayton was late for court, which led to Justice Martin Gayle postponing the matter until Monday.
Ninja Man was on November 20 found guilty of the 2009 murder of Ricardo “Ricky Trooper” Johnson. Clayton and his son Jahneil were also found guilty.
