‘Duane Pow’ still in hospital
WINSTON “Wee Pow” Powell says his son, Duane, is still in the University Hospital of the West Indies after being admitted in the St Andrew medical facility for close to three weeks.
“He is still in the hospital, but I don’t wish to comment on it,” Powell told the Jamaica Observer yesterday.
Powell is the owner and a selector on popular sound system Stone Love Movements.
Duane “Duane Pow” Powell, a selector, was taken to the facility after complaining of headaches. It has been reported that he is in a coma and in critical condition.
Since then, a number of people, including members of Stone Love Movements, have expressed well wishes on social media.
A former student of St Andrew Technical High School in Kingston, he started his own journey in music in 2001 as selector for Stone Love.
He established his record label called Strivers in 2011 and has released rhythms such as Party Anthem featuring Fambo and Charly Black.
