Jamaica claim international domino title
Jamaica were crowned champions of the 2018 Dragon Stout/Jamaica Domino Council Association (JDCA) Five-The-Hard-Way International Domino Tournament, after defeating England 150-125 in the final at Red Stripe Oval on Friday.
For winning the tournament the Jamaicans pocketed US$2,500, while the English men walked away with US$1,500.
It was the second time the Jamaicans were getting the better of England, as the hosts underlined their dominance.
England, looking more focused than they had been throughout the tournament, took the fight to the Jamaicans in the first half. There wasn’t much between them at the start however, as both teams were neck and neck, fighting for the right to be called champions. The English men eventually held a two-point lead on the Jamaicans at the half-time break.
Surprised by the dominance shown by the English men, the Jamaicans came out on the resumption a different team, changing their tactics.
The Jamaicans took over the lead at 110-103, and from that point the hosts never looked back, as they increased the lead and cruised home to win comfortably by 25 points.
