SVREL investigates death of contractor after Caymanas Park accident
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The management of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment (SVREL) says it has launched an investigation into an accident at Caymanas Park on Sunday, which resulted in the death of a man.
According to a release from the organisation, the man, whose identity was not disclosed, was a member of an entity contracted to provide entertainment for patrons at the park.
The deceased was reportedly setting up a children’s ride when a gust of wind blew him off the top of it and he hit a wall.
It is said that he sustained several injures and was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he succumbed.
Supreme Ventures said preliminary results of the “very unfortunate accident” suggest that it resulted from an “Act of God”.
“We extend sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and the colleagues of this gentleman,” said SVREL Chairman Michael Bernard, who also noted that the company is cooperating with the police, the Jamaica Racing Commission and all other relevant authorities as this matter is being investigated.
