Simply The Best
Simply The Best (Adore The Gold – Market Rally) , a five -year-old bay mare, has been retired to the breeding shed.
Don Wehby, owner of the mare, told The Supreme Racing Guide that his horse has had a lot of health issues in her racing career and it was now time for her to try her luck as a broodmare.
“The decision has been taken to retire Simply The Best, despite the fact that she has probably hit the best running form of her career.
“The hope is for her to produce top quality horses in the future to represent her name well,” Wehby said while indicating that a final choice had still not been made as to the stallion she ( Simply The Best) would be going to.
Simply The Best, bred by Hermine and Leisha Metcalfe leaves with career statistics of 27 starts, seven wins, two second-place finishes and four times in the third position slot.
The mare’s last two victories came on the 1000 Guineas race day (Saturday April 14, 2018) at the Open Allowance level, when she easily defeated her eight rivals running over six furlongs (1,200m). On the day Simply The Best was ridden by Dane Nelson.
Simply The Best recorded lifetime earnings of just over $4 million.
