KSAFA Super, Major League semi-finalists decided

Barbican FC, Molynes United FC, Brown’s Town FC and Rockfort FC have all qualified for the Magnum/KSAFA Super League semi-finals slated for the Constant Spring Football Complex this Friday, while the Major League semi-finals will be played at the same venue on Sunday.

A Super League doubleheader will highlight Friday’s action with Barbican FC facing Rockfort FC in the opening match at 6:30 pm, followed by Molynes against Brown’s Town in the feature match at 8:30 pm.

On Sunday there will be two Major League semi-finals at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

In the final round of matches played in the Super League, the game between Rae Town FC and Pembroke Hall FC was not played as there was a no-show from Rae Town. By the absence of Rae Town, a three-goal penalty along with three points were awarded to Pembroke Hall. Notwithstanding both Rae Town and Pembroke Hall were demoted to campaign at the Major League level next season.

In other games Super League Zone A winners Barbican FC thumped Central Kingston FC 7-1 with double strikes coming from Andrew Christie and Ricardo Davis. A goal each from from Loxley Thompson, Jermaine Parris and Ricardo Lee completed the scoring with Donovan Alveranga replying for Central Kingston.

In the meantime, Super League Zone A runners-up Molynes United FC continued their goal fiesta with a five-goal victory against Zone B early leaders Mountain View FC, who seemed to have lost their early rhythm and missed Super League qualification after rising undefeated from the Major League last season. Nicholas Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Romalio Wilson, Shawn D Thompson and Sergino Franklin were all on the score sheet for Molynes.

In the battle of the minors Santos FC turned back Real Mona FC 3-0 with a double strike from Terrick Burke and another from Oniko Allen The up and down Maxfield Park FC humbled Zone B winners Barbican 2-0 in a cross zone match.

Meanwhile, in another cross zone match Rockfort FC derailed any chance Maverley/Hughenden FC had of reaching the semis of the Super League by a point with a 1-0 victory.

In the Magnum/KSAFA Major League played at Constant Spring Football Complex on Saturday, Constant Spring FC defeated Olympic Gardens 3-2 on aggregate from penalty kicks after full time and extra time failed to separate the teams from a 1-1 scoreline. Javier Wilmot scored for Constant Spring in minute 75 with Jermaine Pringle replying in the 90th minute to force penalty kicks.

In the second Major League quarter-final feature match of the evening, Greenwich Town FC defeated Liguanea United FC 2-1 to deal the mercurial run of Liguanea United FC a severe blow. It began in the opening minute when centre forward Ramoune Fisher caught the Liguanea United defence napping and he climbed between them, then wrapped things up by scoring again in the final minute of play to propel Greenwich Town back into Super League contention.

Delverone Simpson had scrambled the ball across the line in the 76th minute to bring the teams level. In Friday night’s games at the same venue, Seaview Gardens edged Cooreville Gardens 2-1, and Meadforest defeated Olympic Gardens 4-3 on penalties after both teams had battled to a 1-1 result after full and extra time.

Every week this column shows what AI can do for a finance team. This week, the other side of the table: researchers used an AI assistant sitting inside a hacked mailbox to map a company, impersonate its chief executive, find a US$247,500 wire transfer waiting for approval, and redirect it.
