Drainage works along Hagley Park Road cause delays starting tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Extensive drainage improvement works are set to commence along a section of Hagley Park Road tomorrow between Portia Simpson Miller Square/Three Miles and Waltham Park Road in St Andrew, the National Works Agency (NWA) says.
As such, the NWA is advising motorists that they should plan for delays when travelling through the area.
Acting Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Ramona Lawson said that activities will be concentrated on the eastbound side of the carriageway where heavy excavation will be undertaken in preparation for the installation of various pipes and culverts.
The activities, she said, will only impact the curbside eastbound lane which takes motorists towards Half Way Tree. Motorists will be restricted to using a single lane.
Two lanes of traffic will, however, be maintained for motorists travelling from Half Way Tree towards Three Miles.
This phase of the project, which is expected to continue for the next few months, will extend beyond the current location towards Half-Way-Tree, Lawson said.
