If you are living in Spanish Town, and you don’t drive or own a car, then you will have to learn to have patience like Job, who was a great sufferer.

When you go to the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre to board a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus in the evening, it’s not a pretty sight. The lines that the people form while waiting for these buses are extra long; sometimes it seems that these lines are as long as a tunnel, or long like the Great Wall of China. And what make matters worse, the commuters have to wait for long periods of time.

This agony has been going on for a long time, almost every day.

Apart from the miles-long lines and the marathon waiting agony we have to been standing like soldiers keeping guard. Sometimes people get tired and hungry and desperately want to get home to rest their weary bodies.

The people of Spanish Town are suffering too much because of the bad service from the JUTC.

The #23 bus is another problem. They operate very infrequently. The number of buses assigned to the route is insufficient.

What’s more, some of the workers on the buses need to learn to show more concern for the public. This is all a part of customer service.
