NOT TRUE!
KINGSTON, Jamaica —
The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has denied a report that Yolande Ramharrack is to act in the post of chair of the Spectrum Management Authority (SMA) following the resignation of Trevor Forrest.
OBSERVER ONLINE had reported earlier that Ramharrack, who is the deputy chairman at SMA and also the human resource manager at the scandal-hit Petrojam, is to act in the post.
However, OPM spokesman Robert Morgan said that the report was not true.
“There is a process as it relates to the appointment of board chairmen and that process has not been completed,” Morgan told OBSERVER ONLINE a short while ago.
“Any speculation as it relates to who will be board chair is premature,” Morgan said, adding that there is “no automatic elevation to position of board chairman.
He also pointed out that the listing on the SMA website showing Ramharrack as deputy chair is incorrect.
“There is no such thing in the corporate governance structure as a deputy chair,” Morgan said.
