Scores flock Clarendon North Central health fair, treat
Hundreds of citizens of the Clarendon North Central constituency turned out last week for the annual health fair and back to school treat at the Donald Sangster Community Centre in Summerfield.
The brainchild of veteran Member of Parliament and Speaker of the House of Representatives Pearnel Charles Snr, the event, each year, seeks to address the medical needs of constituents and prepare students for the new school year with education grants and material support.
Charles expressed delight that the residents from the constituency took full advantage of the opportunities provided.
The MP said that his office continues to pay close attention to the provision of social amenities and is committed to creating alternative solutions in the interest of his constituents. “We will continue to create viable means of access for health care for the constituents across North Central Clarendon. This is one of the many initiatives for the summer which is geared towards easing the cost burden families face to access medical services.”
The Member of Parliament was supported by his wife Gloria; daughter Dr Michelle Charles, a dental surgeon by profession; sons Senator Pearnel Charles Jnr, and Dr Peter Charles, a neurosurgeon; along with a team of young volunteers and medical personnel which included nurses.
