Police issue advisory for Twenty20 matches at Sabina
THE police have advised that patrons who will be attending cricket matches during the Jamaican leg of the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 Competition at Sabina Park in Kingston on Tuesday, August 14 and Wednesday, August 15 will not be permitted entry with some items.
These are firearms, knives, explosives, illegal drugs, walking stick-type umbrellas, large igloos, and frozen water in bottles.
Licensed firearm holders have been asked to make arrangements for the safekeeping of their weapons as no provisions will be made at Sabina Park.
“The Jamaica Constabulary Force reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that Jamaicans can go about their business safely and with confidence. Members of the public are, therefore, assured that the police have made all the necessary preparations to ensure the security of all during the matches and urges cooperation, patience and understanding where necessary,” he police said in a release.
