Youth minister condemns brutal killing of 14-y-o Trench Town girl
KINGSTON, Jamaica — State Minister in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, Floyd Green has expressed anger and outrage at the savage killing of 14-year-old Yetanya Francis in Trench Town, St Andrew between Thursday night and Friday morning.
The charred body of Yetanya, with signs of rape and strangulation, was found in the community, a day after she was reported missing by her family.
She was a student of Kingston Technical High School.
“This level of savagery is beyond comprehension,” the state minister said in a release.
He added that children should be able to go about their business especially in the communities where they live without being attacked by barbaric predators.
Green made an appeal to individuals who may have witnessed something related to the attack to share the information and cooperate fully with the police.
