A Jamaican Made Christmas opens today
THE fourth staging of National Baking Company’s trade show, A Jamaican Made Christmas, which gives invaluable exposure to small, local manufacturers and artisans, opens today at Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.
Scheduled to run from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm today and tomorrow, the event is used by shoppers to purchase Christmas gifts early. It also gives small manufacturers a platform to reach larger audiences than their resources may otherwise allow and helps to promote the purchase of Jamaican goods.
This year, National has said that each patron will receive a reusable tote bag as part of
the company’s support for the Government’s move to protect the environment through a ban
on single-use plastics.
Tiffany Wong, who is responsible for special projects in the office of National Baking Company Chairman Gary “Butch” Hendrickson, explained that the entry fee of $1,200 will give each patron two $500 vouchers, redeemable at any booth inside, as well as the tote bag.
Approximately 100 exhibitors are participating in the trade show which will this year feature an ‘Authors’ Corner’ in a miniature Barnes & Noblestyle lounge area.
