Sagicor Sigma run set for February 17, 2019

PREPARATIONS are in high gear for the annual Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 17, 2019 in New Kingston.

“The Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run has become a calendar event for individuals and companies across the island, and it is truly heart-warming to see the tremendous support the run has received over its more than two decades in raising funds for health and child-related institutions,” noted Simone Walker, executive director of Sagicor Foundation and vice-president, Sagicor Jamaica, Group Marketing.

An enthused Walker shared that the team is pumped and excited to deliver yet another spectacular event for the patrons who come out year after year to support the cause, as “the team is always thinking of new and fun ways to improve the overall experience for patrons.

“Come next year, we hope to top what we did for our 20th staging,” she said of the largest road race in the Caribbean.

This year the event saw a record of 26,519 registrants raising $50 million for the Spanish Town Hospital’s Neonatal Unit and the St Christopher’s School for Deaf. Since the first staging of the run, the event has raised more than $350 million for 30 beneficiaries.
