Suspect charged with murder of 26-y-o man in Cockburn Gardens
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have arrested and charged a suspect in last year’s murder of a 26-year-old man, who was shot several times in Cockburn Gardens, Kingston 11.
The accused has been identified as 31-year-old Ricardo Johnson also called ‘Andre Bennett’, ‘Bull’ and “Lazy”.
Johnson is believed to be one of the men who chased Michael Evans, also known as “Joey”and shot him multiple times on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
According to the Criminal Investigation Branch, Evans was riding his bicycle along the roadway when the man alighted from a motor car and attacked him.
Following investigations, Johnson, who is of a York Avenue, Kingston 11 address, was apprehended during a special operation conducted in Nannyville, Kingston 3 on October 26.
The police said he was charged with murder on Wednesday after a formal question and answer interview session was conducted with him in the presence of his attorney.
Johnson is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
