The Rotary Club of Kingston gifted the Physiotherapy Department of the Kingston Public Hospital withtwo wheelchairs and a walker last Thursday. Though modest, the donation was well received, asmanager of the department Aicia King (centre) explained that the facility, which sees almost 100 patientsper day â many of whom have neurological disorders and therefore require wheelchair assistance âcurrently has only four wheelcahirs. âWe are extremely grateful because this way we can help them tomove around,â she told the club's luncheon meeting at the Pegasus hotel. The donation was made by theclub's co-director for service projects Sarah Newland-Martin and club president Linval Freeman. A basicwheelchair is estimated to cost about $45,000.
