CAROL Brissett met Buju Banton at his Carlyle Avenue studio in Kingston recently. She was one of six Digicel customers who won a VIP experience to the deejay’s Long Walk to Freedom concert held at National Stadium in St Andrew last month.

Her prize package included VIP tickets to the concert, $100,000 cash, and a meet-and-greet with the Gargamel himself, arriving in style in luxury transportation provided by ATL Automotive.

“It was a great performance; I enjoyed it, every moment of it. My favourite part was when Buju first came on stage — everything was excellent, just excellent! It was such a wonderful experience, one that I can tell my grandchildren about and say ‘hey, I made history!’” said Brissett.

Also joining her for the VIP experience were Digicel customers Maxine Palmer, Dedrick Dixon, Andrea Clarke, Yannick Weekes, and Tarik Wolfe. In addition to the VIP experience winners, hundreds of customers also won tickets to the Digicel Red Zone — a fun-filled area in the grandstand.

Digicel’s Marketing Director Monique McLeod said: “This is about being part of the big moments that mean a lot to our customers. Buju’s return and first concert was another of those moments, and we’re very happy to have been able to share it with over 700 customers who came out to enjoy this historic event after winning tickets in our promotion.”

Buju Banton’s Long Walk to Freedom concert was held on March 16. It was his first since being deported to Jamaica in December 2018. He had served an eight-year sentence in a US prison on drug-related charges.
