Amèlle takes off with with Runaway remix

Canadian-Lebanese singer Amèlle is currently in the island ramping up promotions behind her latest single Runaway (the remix), featuring Beenie Man.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Beenie Man. When the director Wayne South heard (the original) Runaway” through my collaborator Gvine at PHS Entertainment, he was inspired to run with it. He asked Beenie Man to hear it and the rest was history! That same week, Runaway the remix was created,” she said.

Runaway (the remix) is slated for release next month on the PHS Entertainment imprint. The original song came out in December 2018.

This is Amèlle’s first trip to Jamaica and she is relishing the experience.

“I’m absolutely loving the people and the culture, it’s very free-spirited and music-filled. I love the Jamaican vibes!” Amèlle said.

She pointed out the similarities between Jamaica and Lebanon.

“Jamaica is like Lebanon with how the culture is; from the greenery to the beaches and the roosters waking me up in the morning, the small shops on the street and how important music is to the people. Even driving on the opposite side of the road and hearing honking everywhere you go,” she said, laughing.

Amèlle and her family migrated to Canada when she was seven years old.

She connected with Canadian rapper Choclair in 2016. He invited to PHS Studio where she has been co-writing and recording with PHS Entertainment.

Her songs include Expensive Taste and Step Back.

“I want to drop my debut album this summer,” she said.
