Dear Editor,

The latest concern has been whether one should terminate or not terminate a pregnancy depending on the age when a foetus is considered human, and so on.

However, my concern is that we should first educate our children, and even adults, on abstinence; the positive and negative effects of sex; pregnancy; and raising children.

Sex education and family life are not being taught in our schools and so our children are not even aware of the value of the life of a child when one comes in play, or even how to take care of them.

The abortion issue is being pushed on the society with the tag line “a woman’s right to choose”, but some of our women don’t even know what they are choosing. Our women, and even the men, need to be educated on the side effects of abortion, which include, in many cases, depression and the tendency to suicide, sexual dysfunction, memory repression, and difficulty in keeping close relationships. Many women are oftentimes coerced into having these abortions to basically “save face”, or fit into what society expects, but the truth of the matter is it was never about the woman or even the unborn child in the first place.

Furthermore, having an abortion can cause serious damage to the lining of the uterus, and later on our women end up having hysterectomies and other problems.

So, in my opinion, if the society is educated on all the factors that are associated with the abortion process, there would be no need for an abortion to be done in the first place.

We need to get to that place where we understand that all life is precious, and from conception a life is formed and it is valuable. If many people, both male and female, knew what it takes overall to support a child physically, financially and emotionally up to at least age 18 years I think that there would be less unwanted pregnancies; hence, there would be no need for an abortion.

There was an additional tools that was added to the education system that was introducing and acknowledging the gender-less lifestyle and telling our children they can be comfortable with whichever gender they choose. This initiative should be directed towards educating our children on abstaining from sex, how to be good parents, and how to raise our children in righteousness.

So what is really important here, terminating our children by pushing the abortion agenda or creating a world where we can respect the right to life and respect each other?

Our children are our future, the next generation, it is our job to educate them in the right way so that they can produce a positive society. If our children are terminated there will be no future because there will be no one left to continue the next generation.

We have a right to education and a right to life, so let us choose life. Jesus Christ of Nazareth is life.
