THERE is a current buzz at the Park and it surrounds the emergence of a horse who has shown real talent and that special oomph which reeks of class.

Master of Hall’s expressive 10 ½ lengths victory in the Bonnie Blue Flag Trophy feature on Saturday, April 27, was just another example of the stirring effect of watching the growth and development of a potential “A” Class horse rising through the ranks.

Running at the Open Allowance level for the first time, Master of Hall ( Emperor Hall – Noassemblyrequired), ridden by apprentice Reyan Lewis, toyed with rivals in a dominating win going nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) in a time of 1:56.2, getting the better of Houdini’s Magic (Raddesh Roman) and Drummer Boy (Omar Walker).

“Indeed, it was a very good one. The performance was very good and it was an easy one, as well. I wasn’t expecting him [ Master of Hall] to win this far because I had asked the rider not to push him to do anything but just to do enough to win, maybe by two or three lengths would have been good,” Glispie said.

“Well, the future plan for him is that we have another run at this level and so he will be competing in this group as long as everything is fine with him. Master of Hall is on the improve and I think that he can do more than he did today (Saturday),” Glispie continued.

When asked about the big races to come such as the ultra-rich Diamond Mile, Glispie said that as long as Master of Hall is in good nick, he will be among the best to compete.

“The Diamond Mile is way down the road, this is not a 100 per cent sound horse and I would love to get there but I am going to take it one day at a time. You have the Superstakes coming up and hopefully, I might get a ticket there.

“ Master of Hall is without doubt a top-class horse. He is a grade ne horse and he is still on the improve,” he added.

Master of Hall led the small field of six around the clubhouse turn as stable companion Pakman (Kiaman McGregor) chased along with Houdini’s Magic (Raddesh Roman).

Entering the back stretch, Pakman took up the running and drew off a bit from the field, in order to set a moderate pace for Master of Hall to run at. Drummer Boy (Omar Walker), who was in second place when Pakman took over, surged to the lead leaving the 5-furlong (1000m) point and approaching the half-mile (800m) but Drummer Boy didn’t have time to settle as Master of Hall was bubbling behind.

Approaching the home bend, Master of Hall was already in top gear and hit the front full of running and turned for home with only the breeze providing any resistance.

Houdini’s Magic ran second, Drummer Boy held well for third and Fayrouz completed the board in fourth place.

Master of Hall now boasts a record of six wins from nine starts.
