My Kingston Paul “Pablo” Stennett

Paul “Pablo” Stennett Grammy Award-winning producer, musician and writer

What’s on my mind right now is… focusing on the construction of the We Are Tomorrow Foundation Mentoring Centre in Spanish Town. I am always thinking about ways to give back.

My favourite hotel to stay in is… I don’t normally stay in a hotel when I am home in Jamaica but when I do, my preferred hotel is the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston.

My Kingston secret is… where to find the best 360 views of Kingston. I am always in awe of its beauty.

The tune/song uppermost in my mind is… Fun Time Again by Christopher Martin — single on the Journey With Stripe album that I produced.

The artiste I’d most love to collaborate with is… The Weeknd. He has an amazing voice and we’re both brand ambassadors for Puma!

The (musical) catalogues I’d most love to purchase without a second thought would be… Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker, Lionel Richie, Billy Ocean … just to name a few. Too many to name!

My favourite Kingston spot is…

East on a Friday night! The music genres played span years and the deejays are wicked!

To maximise my time on The Rock and to really let my hair down I would call… friends and family and have a cook-out with live music. It’s my time to catch up with them and just unwind. That’s when the memories are recalled and laughter is never-ending.

My musical hero is… Bob Marley. His music, messages, love songs, rebellion always leave me thinking…

What are you up to at the moment for work?

I have several projects in the works, including the construction of the We Are Tomorrow Foundation music mentoring programme and touring with Ziggy. There are always new opportunities presented so I am constantly on my toes trying to keep up with work while balancing my personal life.

What was your 2018 standout achievement?

Seeing my vision as a founding member of the We Are Tomorrow Foundation Mentoring programme being realised and winning another Grammy Award.

What do you reckon will be your 2019 show-stopper?

The success of the We Are Tomorrow Foundation and being a witness to the amazing talent that will come out of Spanish Town where it all started for me.
