GREEN POND, St James — Club Ville booked their spot in the semi-finals of the St James Football Association Sandals Resorts International Division One league after a big 5-1 win over Paradise FC at Green Pond High, thanks to a hat-trick from Warren Rashford.

Four teams, including Club Ville and Paradise FC, were on 10 points and both needed to win to join Firehouse SC and Discipline FC, who had booked their spots earlier.

As a result of the game, Norwood Strikers also qualified for the semi-finals set to start on Thursday.

Firehouse SC topped the regular season standings with 16 points, two more than Discipline FC’s 14. Club Ville ended with 13 points while Norwood Strikers edged Paradise FC and Belmont FC on goal difference after all three ended with 10 points.

On Friday, Rashford scored in the 30th, 42nd and 81st minutes for Club Ville, while Ricardo Dewar in the sixth minute, and Akeem Campbell in the 33rd had added their names to the scoresheet.

Jevaughn Pinnock got Paradise FC’s goal in the 40th minute.
