UDC announces investment opportunities at Reach Falls
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is inviting investors to submit proposals for concession opportunities at Reach Falls in Portland.
UDC said the move is in response to increased demand for authentic Jamaican cuisine and natural juices, including coconut water.
Reach Falls an eco-attraction nestled at the foot of the Blue Mountain range has experienced an overall annual growth rate of 33 per cent since the attraction was reopened to the public in 2007.
The attraction which offers a 45 minute tour up the Driver’s River has grown consistently in visitor arrival numbers over the years.
Applicants are invited to submit offers in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the Information Memorandum Document (IMD).
The IMDs are available on the UDC’s website at www.udcja.com/investmentsopportunities as of Monday, April 15, 2019. The document is also available at the address below between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $2,500.00 per IMD by cash or Manager’s Cheque to the Urban Development Corporation.
UDC said prospective proponents may seek and receive clarification of any part of this Request for Proposal (RFP) at any time, up to Monday, May 6, 2019 before 4:30 pm.
The “Technical” and “Financial” sections of the Proposal are to be packaged separately in sealed envelopes, which are to be marked accordingly (that is, ‘Technical’ and ‘Financial’). Both envelopes are to be placed in a third envelope, sealed, labelled and addressed to: The Director, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Department, 7th Floor Urban Development Corporation, 12 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston Mall, Kingston.
The envelopes should be marked either:
“Request for Proposal, Attractions Concession – Reach Falls” or
“Request for Proposal, Food and Beverage Concession – Reach Falls” or
“Request for Proposal, Snack shop Concession – Reach Falls”
Sealed and labelled Proposals should be deposited Tuesday, May 21, 2019 no later than 2:00 pm, in the Tender Box labelled “Request for Proposals – Reach Falls, Portland” located on the Ground Floor of the Office Centre Building, 12 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston.
The opening of proposals will commence at 2:15 pm, on the same day on the Ground Floor of the UDC office.
UDC said a suite of other investment opportunities inclusive of Walter Fletcher Beach, Montego Bay, Food Bazaar at Festival Marketplace and Multi-storey Parking Garage, Kingston are all available on its website.
