OPM’s Robert Morgan appointed Gov’t Senator

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Director of Communications and Public Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Robert Nesta Morgan has been appointed a Government Senator and Parliamentary Secretary.

Morgan was sworn in by Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen this afternoon.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement a short while ago while congratulating Morgan on his appointment.

Morgan will be replacing Ruel Reid who resigned from the post of Senator as well as that of Minister of Education, Youth and Information in March.

Reid resigned following a number of allegations in the public domain, Holness said at the time.
