What A Style Week

Saint International executed its 15th attempt at positioning The Rock globally as the Caribbean’s fashion capital during last week’s Style Week events, and delivered a star-studded showcase for all the top models and specially invited guests. Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Dean of the School of Art & Design Troy Richardson; Miami Fashion Institute chair Asanyah Davidson; Fashion Institute of South Florida director Rucht D’Oleo; Professor Verene Shepherd; and British Council Mexico Country Director Kevin Mackenzie were among those invited to dinner at the National Gallery of Jamaica with Saint CEO Deiwght Peters and his models. The Moveable Feast Caterers principal Michele Williams catered, and all 32 guests in attendance would agree, it was an exceptional evening of art, camaraderie, and vibrant colours.

And…

Spotted at the International Mecca of Style event with the fab Cindy Breakspeare was lifestyle entrepreneur Suzette Chin-Loy Robinson rocking the white mesh overlay dress with asymmetric seaming by Kathryn Bowen. Having recently returned from Toronto, which happens to be the home of the designer, Robinson is in good company as Saint International model Breanna Carson recently donned an identical ivory dress in a soon-to-be-released editorial that was shot on The Rock in January.

Plus

having only been on The Rock for a hot minute, Saint International model Tami Williams jetted off to the French Riviera — immediately after the International Mecca of Style show on Sunday — to start prepping for the 2019 amfAR Gala Cannes. By Thursday the gazelle was rubbing shoulders with top models and A-listers who, like her, had all flown in for the benefit gala/charity event.

Etc

Speaking of Cannes, the New Wave Ja team is hell-bent on taking local creatives to the world, and so did on Thursday when the Flight crew copped an award at the 72nd International Cannes Film Festival in France. The Jamaican-made short film was the overall winner of the Diversity In Cannes Showcase and took home the Audience Award. Flight was also selected for a special screening at Theater ‘F’ in the Palais de Festivals (the official home of the Cannes Film Festival). Making it possible for the team to take flight and compete were The Chase Fund, Alacran Foundation, Rubis Mécénat, Pulse Investments, Yono Cosmetic Manufacturing Co & Fesco Marketing Co.

Finally…

After a successful presentation at Style Week, the Greta Constantine design duo of Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, along with Senior Communications and Business Development Manager Jesse Greene and post-production executive Hira Khan will continue their Caribbean appeal as guests of the Schneiders in the Bahamas for the wedding of their daughter Jen Schneider to Steve Connor this weekend.
