Digicel Jamaica suffered their fifth-consecutive defeat after going down 96-137 to champions Campari in the 2019 National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Kingston & St Andrew Region Business House League last Friday.

Playing away at 473 Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11, Digicel needed to win their cross-zone contest to enhance their chances of making it to the quarter-finals and avoid being demoted to the lower division next season but fell behind from early in the match and never recovered as Campari cruised home easily in the end.

With the loss, Digicel remained at the bottom of Zone A on eight points and need to win their next three remaining matches while hoping for favourable results from other games in the zone, while Campari, who lead Zone B on 42 points, are assured of a spot in the quarter-finals.

Also suffering their fifth-consecutive defeat were National Baking Company, who went down 95-108 to Jamaica Observer at their home base at 43 Half-Way-Tree Road, Kingston 5. National Baking Company, who are fifth in Zone B on four points, are almost out of contention for a spot in the next round as they will have to win all their remaining matches and still hope for the best. Jamaica Observer, on the other hand, who are in second place on 41 points, have also booked their spot in the quarter-finals.

In another Zone B game, RJRGleaner (23 points) defeated Urban Development Coporation (UDC) — 26 points — for the second time this season with a 126-116 win at 12 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston Mall.

Over in Zone A, leaders Kingston Wharves (50 points) remained unbeaten after whipping third-placed Ministry of Finance (MOF) — on 31 points — 114-94 at home and fourth-placed Seprod (22 points), turned the tables of second-placed Wray & Nephew Limited (32 points) with a 113-90 beating at 473 Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11.

In Division Two, Kris n Charles lead Zone A on 46 points after beating second-placed National Housing Trust (NHT) — on 31 points — 124-88, and Sagicor Jamaica Limited (18 points) moved up to third place with a 114-88 win over fourth-placed Stewart’s Automotive Group, who are on 11 points.

In Zone B, National Commercial Bank (NCB) moved up to first place on 42 points with a 106-90 win over second-placed Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) — 41 points — at Nethersole Place. Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ), who were inactive last week, are third on 23 points.

Round six takes place today with a full slate of matches in both divisions.

Seprod are in a tough spot as they travel to King Port Building to face Kingston Wharves in a match which the host should win comfortably; Digicel Jamaica will be looking for a vital win at home at 14 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston Mall against MOF; Wray & Nephew Limited should send National Baking Company packing in their match at 43 Half Way Tree Road, Kingston 5; Jamaica Observer welcome RJRGleaner at 40-42 1/2 Beechwood Avenue and UDC travel to 473 Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11 to face Campari in another sterling contest in Division One.

In the lower division, NHT entertain Stewart’s Automotive Group at 4 Park Boulevard; Krisan Charles host Sagicor Jamaica Limited at 2 Eureka Crescent, and BOJ are on the road to PAJ at 15-17 Duke Street, Kingston. NCB are out of action.
