Street lights important to safety, development
Dear Editor,
Having the nation’s street properly lit forms a critical component in national security.
On April 23, 2019 I first reported to the Jamaica Public Service Company that the street light bearing the number 083166 was defective. It has been over a month and the non-functioning street light has yet to be fixed or replaced.
I provided driving directions to the street pole as was requested by the Jamaica Public Service Company and nothing has been done to date in order to resolve this issue.
I am aware that other street lights throughout the country have not been working, and that it will take some time to address all of these issues. However, I believe that a month is adequate to have this malfunctioning street light remedied.
I am making a public appeal to Jamaica Public Service Company for some assistance.
In order for us to achieve Jamaica’s National Development Plan, commonly referred to as Vision 2030, our light and power company must ensure that our streets are properly lit.
