Juici Patties donates $1.3 million to the Clarendon Netball Association
For the past 28 years Juici Patties has supported the Clarendon Netball Association (CNA).
Netball stars such as Elaine Davis, Vangelee Williams, Romelda Aiken, to name a few, all advanced from the Clarendon Netball Association to be apart of Jamaica’s national senior team (Sunshine Girls).
Vangelee is presently the vice-captain, Elaine was the team’s best goal shooter before being succeeded by Romelda Aiken.
The partnership between Juici and CNA provides the resources and opportunities for women like Elaine, Vangelee and Romelda to play competitively, and to empower them to realise their true athletic potential on the local and international scene. This year Juici donated $1.3 million to the 2019 Junior and Senior League summer games.
Winston Nevers, vice-president for CNA and assistant coach for Jamaica’s senior women’s netball team, said, “I am very grateful for the continuous support of Juici Patties over the years. It is not the easiest thing to allocate funds to support the association. Juici has always been with us from day one when they first opened business in May Pen about 28 years ago and we are very, very thankful.”
CNA has 36 clubs consisting of 15 players each in the parish. With this year’s donation, there will be a summer play-off where each club team will play breathlessly for the 2019 Juici Netball Championship, as well as to secure the spot of the next netball star.
Juici Patties is devoted to playing an active role in giving back to the community through sponsoring sporting, educational and uplifting initiatives.
