Jamaica Customs travels to St Mary to engage stakeholders on June 27
The Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) continues its stakeholder engagements, ‘Customs Meets the Community'(CMC), under the theme: ‘Reaching Our Customers Where They Are’ with the next stop for the JCA team scheduled for Thursday, June 27, in St Mary. This is the eighth time the JCA will be hosting its stakeholder engagements.
While in St Mary, the JCA are going to host a mini-expo and a town hall meeting at the St Mary’s Anglican Church Hall, Port Maria from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The town hall session is slated to begin at 3:00 pm and will be streamed live online by the Jamaica Information Service (JIS), thus allowing persons locally and internationally to actively participate in the session.
This Customs initiative is augmented by the JCA’s collaborative approach, which includes the engagement of other border regulatory agencies to participate in these sessions. Importantly, the forum provides the opportunity for participants to ask questions, state their concerns and give their feedback. The ‘Customs Meets the Community’ series takes place in partnership with the Social Development Commission (SDC).
The CMC parish engagement series is being conducted in order to communicate more effectively with customers, in keeping with the JCA’s thrust to inform and educate stakeholders about customs policies and procedures, and other customs-related matters.
